As the New York state case shows, though, laws are pretty outdated when it comes to social media and its use/abuse.<br /><br />You wonder if advising against allowing yourself to be photographed without clothes on, or during a sexual act, is really blaming the victim. What York does so well in DEEPER is to explore the gendered nature of such advice. Couldn't it be punis...A very interesting issue. Couldn't it be punished as a misdemeanor? Or a civil -not criminal- lawsuit? <br />I think we all know that the real culprit is the person that put those pictures in the internet. <br />But I'm not sure if advicing against this kind of behaviour is really blaming the victim. I mean, if you are a tourist in a foreign country I'd tell you: 'be careful with your handbag, don't put it on the floor beside your chair', for instance. It's just giving advice to try not to be the victim of a crime. But if you are a victim, you are a victim, it's not your fault. Nobody has to take advantage of your naïveté.<br />We all have been young. When you are so young, you just can't imagine that your boyfriend could do you that.
