I enjoy sewing my own dresses, but wearing them out in public is another story...

I wish someone would do a scientific study on the benefits (or lack thereof) of social media self promotion. How silly, to keep promoting if no one is listening...Jackie C. Maybe my staring seemed rude, but I was fascinated. You should be proud. :)

I'm SO glad women can go topless in NYC. Every sporting event I attend where every man, no matter age, size (and I'm very skinny, so they all have bigger breasts than me!) or anything else, takes almost all his clothes off when it's hot, and there we are, dying of heat and knowing we'd be arrested if we did that... GRR. Not that I WOULD take my top off, but the double standards kill me.

"spoke about working 50 (or 80, or 100)-hour workweeks to keep their readers interested and their businesses going"

I hear this a lot, and about fatigue, and... well, I'm not sure these authors need to do everything they're doing. I'm constantly bombarded with "cover reveal parties!" and "release day parties!" and "Facebook parties!" and "Goodreads events!" and in the end it's just authors promoting themselves to other authors, because readers are so freaking sick of being spammed.

The Romance University site had a post recently that was about this. Basically the conclusion was that even though you're talking to nobody, you should keep on spamming!

I really don't think the aggressive social media is making any more sales than authors who don't do that. I'm much more likely to check out an author who engages in online conversations just because they enjoy books.Sonyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00016718850530449857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-630346294397505634.post-45566173994702883592015-08-05T10:29:27.264-04:002015-08-05T10:29:27.264-04:00Hi, Hazel:

I wish I could go one day, you highlight such cool panels!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09074390875167936939noreply@blogger.com
